- The project must be bicycling-related and consistent with the Kalamazoo Bicycle Club’s stated mission and purpose.
- Grant requests must not exceed $1000.
- A Grant Application Form, available on the KBC website, must be submitted to the KBC Grants and Awards Committee. Receipt acknowledgement of proposals will be sent by the Committee chair via email, as will notification of approval or rejection of the grant request.
- Grant applications received by the 15th of each month will be voted on by club members present at the next monthly KBC meeting, typically held on the second Tuesday of each month.
- A request for clarification, and/or a brief presentation at a club meeting, about a project may be deemed necessary by the Grants and Awards Committee before a grant request is approved. Clarification and/or presentation requests are sent by the Committee chair via email; such requests could delay a decision on a grant.
- Based on the information gathered, the Grants and Awards Committee recommends to the KBC membership – via a motion at a KBC meeting – that a proposed project be supported with a grant OR denied support.
- The Grants and Awards Committee chair will notify the grant requester of the KBC’s decision. If the proposed project receives a KBC grant, the Committee chair will convey the size of the grant as well as requirements and deadlines that must be met.
- The KBC logo, or mention of the Kalamazoo Bicycle Club, must appear in all published materials about the funded project and on any list of sponsors connected to the project.
- A Follow-up Report Form, also available on the KBC website, must be submitted to the KBC Grants and Awards Committee after a project is completed. Because follow up reports help KBC track and gauge the success of grants disbursed, the club highly values receiving follow up reports. Therefore, failure to submit a report will disqualify the grantee from receiving KBC grants in the future.
- Any granted funds not used by the individual or organization for the project or activity must be returned to the Kalamazoo Bicycle Club.
