New Bike Lane on Stockbridge Avenue

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Stockbridge Avenue between Crosstown Parkway and Portage Street had bike lanes installed in June 2021.

Kalamazoo said the bike lanes would help connect the Vine neighborhood and the Edison neighborhood. It would also route directly to the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail in coordination with the renovations of the Kalamazoo Farmers Market and Bank Street.

The new bike lane would be 5-feet wide and provide safer access for bicyclists.

In the image below, the pink line represents the new bike lane. Red lines represent existing bike lanes. Says KBC president Doug Kirk, “It’s great to see that Kalamazoo’s longstanding non-motorized transportation plan is continuing to progress!”
