September MNR at 5:45 pm

KBC Club Rides in September begin at 5:45 pm.   Go to Club Rides for descriptions of rides usually available.  As temperatures drop and days shorten, attendance at Club Rides tends to wane.  So, some of the usual pace-groups may not have Ride Leaders.  Please plan ahead and be flexible if Ride Leaders are not available for your pace-group.

KBC Friday Morning Women’s Ride – 9:00a start

Friday Morning Women’s Ride rolls out at 9:00am from Texas Drive Park. This ‘no drop’ ride goes for 22-27 miles on mixed terrain roads in Kalamazoo and Van Buren counties and averaging 15-16 mph. Go to https://www.kalamazoobicycleclub.org/rides/club-rides/ for more details.

Pace Line Training Ride @ WNR

Scott Baron will be leading paceline training rides on alternate Mondays and Wednesdays. The plan is to work on paceline skills. The paceline-experience levels of riders will range from novice to experienced.
This ride is geared towards people who are experienced riding in groups and with a fitness level to maintain an average, in a group, of 17-18 mph over 25-30 miles. Please have a functioning bike computer- it helps.
We will be working on communication, etiquette, bike handling, steady-pace riding, and fun. We are not racing! These are provisional ‘no-drop’ rides.

KBC Ride Leader Summit

In response to a growing interest in our community for more rides at every pace, and to improve the safety of all participants on those rides, we invite you to our first Ride Leader Summit on June 22, 2017.
WHAT: There will be short presentations and discussions, led by members of the Executive Committee and Ride Committee, covering the KBC Group Ride Guidelines, the Ride Leader Guidelines, tips and strategies for planning and leading a ride, and ride leader tools and resources.  Presentations and discussion will be followed by dinner (on your own) and socializing.
WHEN:  Thursday June 22, 2017 at 6:00 PM
WHERE:   Gallagher’s Eatery and Pub, 4210 Stadium Drive
WHO:  All KBC members who are Ride Leaders or interested in learning more about becoming a ride leader, and all members who want to be part of this discussion.
Please RSVP on Face Book or to Teri Olbrot teri.olbrot@sbcglobal.net so that we can save you a seat. Gallagher’s assures me (Teri Olbrot) that there will vegan and gluten free options.  I hope you join the discussion and THANK YOU!
